THE “LK-GROUP” PROMOTES PATTAYA’S LOY KRATHONG   In Pattaya most business organizations actively participate in the Loy Krathong celebrations, and the national “LK-Group” is a typical example of these activities. This internationally based organization has six large establishments in Pattaya City alone, namely the LK Royal Suite, LK Renaissance, LK Metropole, LK Mansion, Mantrapura Resort Pattaya and the LK Legend. While most of these are large scale hotel & accommodation businesses, there are also high class restaurants embodied within many of these establishments.
As a forward thinking business organization, they have put weeks of planning into their Loy Krathong promotion, which will include all staff being dressed in traditional Loy Krathong costume. Guests are also invited to join in the LK-Group’s Loy Krathong celebrations, and may even dress up in true traditional Thai style. Loy Krathong is held on the full moon which usually falls on a particular night in November, and many people will release a small, highly decorated, raft like krathongs onto any body of water that is available. One of the main beauty contests is the "Noppamas Queen Contest," and towards midnight, each Loy Krathong event usually finishes with a brilliant display of fireworks, which makes the whole event a spectacular evening of entertainment.
